This was definitely a day when I felt on top of the world. There are a lot of things that make it all worth it on deployment, too. A letter from home, unexpected note from a friend, shared laugh, good book, full night's sleep, fast run, word of encouragement, new experience, or so many other things can lift you out of a valley of monotony and remind you how wonderful life is.
